Welcome to this study of the texts from the Revised Common Lectionary prepared by the Reverend Dr. Harry Eberts Jr. for use in the Educational and Spiritual Ministry of the Akron Area Association of Churches. It is for the private and personal use of persons who turn to these Bible studies for study, meditation, and inspiration.
Many sources have been used. Primarily of course the Hebrew and Christian scriptures. Secondary sources are noted in the text to the best of the author’s ability to do so. Of course, biblical studies are of necessity built upon a vast and deep foundation of scholarship, and some studies have become so much a part of any writer’s nature that he or she is unable to footnote every possible source that may lead to a particular interpretation of the Scripture. We apologize in advance to scholars whose contributions to that foundation may no longer be remembered by this writer.
